I love stealth which is why I can't stand when it's randomly put into a mission for a game that doesn't have the proper mechanics dedicated to it. With escort missions it's usually because the AI behaves erratically, either going too slow or just doing dumb things that is guaranteed to get them killed (one of the reasons why I don't use companions in Fallout 3).
